At the protocol level, Paxful sends your number to a carrier-lookup provider (commonly Twilio Lookup, Telesign, or an equivalent HLR query service) the moment you submit it. The lookup result contains a carrier-type flag — Mobile, Landline, or VoIP. Paxful's registration backend drops the session whenever that field comes back as VoIP, regardless of anything else about your account, browser, or IP address.
